Hello, SEO guys!
I have a commercial website with a blog. Also I have a second very new domain where a copy of my blog placed. (please don't ask why I put a copy of my blog on another domain - it was necessary for our company's aims) The second domain is totally closed for search engines by robots.txt and meta tags.
But accidentally an article on the second domain trapped to social networks and got lots of GOOD backlinks. I have exactly the same article on my main domain.
The question is: how to easily transfer those links from the second domain to the main one?
Should I make a 301 redirect from the popular article's URL to the same article on the main domain? Or should I redirect the whole second domain to the main one? Are there any disadvantages of doing so? Will Google like such transfers from a newish domain/page to an old one (>1 year)? Will it work at all?
Please give your advices.
Thank you!
