Question -
Someone told me to setup my blog on my main site as a sub-domain - blog.example.com. Another told me to make it part of my site - example.com/blog.
From a search SEO strategy which is better for driving traffic to my site? My site content almost never changes.

Subdomains and subfolders both are their own advantages.
Subfolders: I like it because all the link juice on that blog will benefit the whole domain.
Subdomain: it's a different website, and therefore have an Analytics advantage. The data from yoursite.com and blog.yoursite.com will be differentiated.
Most of the time you use a subdomain when the blog is NOT totally related to the site. Otherwise, if your blog relate 100% to your site, you should use subfolder.

It is better if you use domain with Subfolders and it will benefit for the whole domain. And much better is to use keywords in your domain or URL.

What about setting up your blog as part of one of the blog sites like Wordpress? I recently set up one just to see what will happen. I did this because I noticed that a Word Press page that showed all blogs related to a specific key word I have been trying to rank for was showing up in a better organic search result than my site. So I created a blog on Wordpress and wrote a blog about that specific subject matter and gave it the appropriate tags and now my blog is on this ranking page. Plus I was wondering about the long term benefits on linking from the blog to my main site.
Any thoughts on this?
