Hi everyone, I am the manager of a placement consultancy and have to spend a lot of time online looking for potential information. This consumes a lot of time, but the most time is wasted when I open certain links and find that they are of not any use to me. Because of this, I would have to wait for the window to only find that the information for me is useless. I am looking an answer that can help to minimize the work-load.

Be more accurate in your searching. Google allow some syntax to help. Here's some of the most basic to start you off:
Use "" to specify exact phrases, (EG. "online marketing")
Use - to prohibit certain items, (EG. -affiliates)
Use site: to search a specific site, (EG. site:example.com)
You can also search by recency by attaching a as_qdr=d7 to the end of a URL to show results in the past seven days. The d7 can even be customised.
These parameters can also all be combined.
But you may want to start off by using the Advanced Search option.
