tracking email

Hi

I have a question about Google Analytics tracking.

We have a PPC campaign which sends people to an online quotation form. Once the form is filled out an email is then sent to the person with the quote. If the person wants to accept the quote they click on an "order now" button within the email.

We would like to track the people who click on the "order now" button within the email. Can someone direct me to where I need to go to find information on this please. I have a feeling it will be a filter but I'm not 100% sure and if so what type of filter will I require.

In the PPC you set up your conversion goals. You add a snip of code to the page that you would consider a "success" - You can do something similar in Google Analytics - Check out the "goals" wizard. It should help.

Thanks for the reply. I have to revise what I said I need to track slightly.

As I said before we are monitoring those people who get a quote sent to them by email. We then want to track the number of people who click on the button and go to the landing page, and that's it. We don't need to track the conversion at this point as we are already doing this.

I still think to do this will involve a filter.

I hope I am not very late in helping you out regarding your question. If I am not wrong, you would like to track this behavior:

A visitor comes to your website - submits a form - an automatic email is sent to the visitor with a link to your landing page - the visitor clicks the link and goes to the landing page.

Now you would like to track how many people clicked the link in your email and landed in your LP. This can be done by using the URL tool builder in Google Analytics.
