Sorry for my bad english, I know it is not good but I have to try it here.
I have a very strange problem with listing www. shophexe.de on Google Germany's results. It is happening very offen in last month.
For more than 100 search queries like "shop verzeichnis"(means 'shop directory' in german), "online shopping portal" or "shopping portal" in Google.de(not Google.com etc), our site was/is on the first page of results. But somedays for all that queries our site is on the one of last pages. And than again in the first page and again last.... This happened in the last month more than five times. Our pages were on the last pages of Google results two days ago than everything looked like normal yesterday but today we have same problem again. Since one month I check every possibility but could not find anything.
There is no network problem, GoogleBot can access site and already crawling every minute.
There is no illegal or spam like content
We are using an improved version of SEO-Friendly CMS: Drupal
We care about unique content and pages
We dont have many error pages like 403s or 404s
We check regularly Google Webmaster-Tools/diagnostics etc
We never buy links or services of SEO-Companies etc
Our site is just a useful and moderated shopping guide/directory in german.
My question is: what could be the real reason of that like extrem-instability?
Or am I just a victim of Google-Labours for something new?
Thanks for any help

I assume you are not logged into a Google account and don't keep Google cookies. So which are the "original" results, the good ones or the bad ones/ it sounds like you are either in the process of recovering from a problem or are in the early stages of gaining a problem. One of the 2 results "sets" will settle in eventually, hope it's the good ones.

I've been tracking the keywords "car insurance" and "breakdown cover in Google uk and have observed daily fluctuations, with old sites dropping out, new sites coming in on the 2 first pages and movement all around, but I've only seen it for very competitive terms.

Hi there, I am having same problem:
I have a client whose website used to have 80-100k visits per day (PR7). it's a book shop. the thing is that since the begining of this month the website traffic has gone down dramatically.
before, when you searched for specific book names, this website was on top of the SERPs all the time. but, suddenly, in a blink of an eye it appears on page 3 or 4.
the funny thing is that none of the website competitors are on the top of SERPs either. when you type the name of a book, google returns websites that does not have much to do with the book itself but just a short reference of the book. these websites have normally a very low PR and they do not offer much info about the book nor the author.
I suspect google is having problems with its algorhythm because they are not offering a good service to their users at all when they smake a search. i mean, if you type the name of a book, you expect to read either info about the book, info about the author or a site where you can buy it. and it does not show this at all anymore.
does anyone have some info about google changing its algorhythm again and giving more relevancy to other different elements? any idea or suggestion?

To my knowledge there has been no noticeable algorithm change. Just the index refreshes daily. Which is actually a good thing. Maybe not for seo though :)

so, whats your opinion about this weird things? why google is offering search results that do not have much to do with the search query?

I haven't noticed any irrelevant results cropping up personally, so I can't say, sorry.

Changed and seemingly strange Google results started being noticed in early June, possibly indicating some sort of algo change on or about the 3rd. There's and older SEW discussion (http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/showthread.php?t=22784) that touches on some of the same points. From reading around other boards it doesn't appear as if anybody has as yet been able to put a finger on exactly what might have changed (if anything actually has and this is nothing but a Sergey burped moment).

Hi,
Today I noticed fluctuations in ranks of my site's keywords.

As I opened this topic our PageRank was 3. Now we have PR4 but nothing else changed.

HI there,
I've detected same problem in one of my test website which has a new structural organisation since last month of March. It has a page rank (PR) 4 with few traffic from SERPS until July 24th when traffic is gone to 0. PR still 4( main page) and some internal pages has increased the PR value from 0 to 2.
The new distribution of PR is not according to the actual website organisation scheme. Example: Pages of first level can have PR 2 and some subordinate page can have PR 3.
Traffic from Google still approch 0.....
Website is CMS Drupal

Exactly the same problem!
All that happened after we moved to popular CMS Drupal 6x in march 2008. I am not sure if there is a real connection between Drupal 6 and low PR. Official Page drupal.org self had PR9 last year but now PR8. The other popular CMS Joomla! has still PR9 like before.

Hi Shophexe......
I don't think that an specific software can change PR evaluation. Nevertheless if the new version changes URL and you don't make the right redirect...
In my case I have not changed Drupal version.. (4.6.3)
cheers
