the page rank button - that green little distraction is never really accurate but is supposed to let you know the PR of the page you are looking at... not worth much these days...

PageRank comes from the name "Larry Page" and his ranking system for Google.

Although this offers an insight to your pages quality from 0 to 10. It is more of a guidance as it is only updated every 3-4 months. Meanwhile Googles actual PageRank is updated constantly but will never be made public. They use hundreds of different aspects to calculate the ranking of your page.

Wikipedia has a good description of Page Rank - try searching it and have a read!

I dunno if its really accurate. But the way I understood it, the higher the PR, the higher the are the number of viewers... In addition, there is a number of links pointing towards your website if you have generated a PR.. Correct me if I'm wrong..

In my case, I value the page more when it has a higher PR.. Like for example, Yahoo.com.. Its PR is a whopping 9/10.... I wish my blog will get a PR as high as Yahoo
