Do I wanna link my google account with my youtube account?

Thats what I was just asked on youtube, because it seems I do have a google account.

Matter of fact, I do not have a Google account.

Does anyone have an idea how they determine who is likely to have a Google account (on the youtube site)? Anyone?:-)

I don't see a problem. I have several Google and YouTube accounts. I just point the g-mail to my main gmail account which I download using Eudora. I use their Maps and Calendar too.

I didnt mean to say it was a problem, I understand they wanna link and crosspromote their services.

I was just wondering why I was asked if I wanted to link my google account to my youtube account, when I do not own a google account.

I was just curious if anyone knew how they determined who's likely to have a google account? Do they just look up if the address youtubeusername @ google.com exists? or do they ask that anyone on youtube?
