When google editorial policy states that the Ad display URL must match the destination URL, and that there must be no pop-ups, can we get around this with individual keyword URLs....

For example, the Ad URL might be www.123.com and the display url shows this too, and there are no popups on the page.

However, the individual keyword URLs may link through to www.abc.com, and there is a pop-up on the page.

Does Google still vet these? Or does it ONLY vet the Ad URL?

Thanks,

(BTW, I hate pop-ups, but I have a belidgerent client...)

It is a straight policy of not sending ads to pages with popups... workaround could get your account stopped\\could be the word... a risk if they stop ads running

Speaking as a person who visits a lot of sites every single day, rather than as a Google employee, I hate them too. So does virtually everyone I have ever talked to - which makes me wonder whether the right path might be to educate the client rather than try to make an end-run around AdWords policy on their behalf. This is just my $0.02.

I will say that advertisers who repeatedly demonstrate that they are not concerned with the letter and spirit of AdWords policy tend to be the one's whose accounts are eventually suspended. This seems a fair thing to do, first for the sake of users - and also for other advertisers who play by the rules and who know that user-experience with AdWords in general is key to their own long term success.
