I'm offering an seo service to a very small company in my neighborhood. Although I'm brand new at consulting, I have decent seo experience for my own sites. Part of my offering to this client is ongoing benchmark reporting, and I was hoping someone would have some insight - or better yet, samples (i will not share) - of what big agencies are doing. I'm not looking to provide any technical site audit stuff in these benchmarks (which seems like the popular thing to do) because I'm doing that elsewhere.

What should I put in? what should I trend? what do clients like to see? What will give them their money's worth (assuming I'm giving a high value benchmark)...

Thanks. I want to make this my future, so any education is much appreciated.

I would grab all possible keywords and see where they are right now and offer to monitor the positions up and down. Also analytics are good for them to see what visitors are doing... what brings them and what they read and click on etc.

do you have a sample benchmark? I'd love to see how it looks, how it's laid out, how long it is, etc. I can give you my email address...
