Hi All,
We have a retail site re-launching just in time for xmas. We already run various PPC campaigns and monitor these for ROI. However, we've got a bit of cash to splash over the next few months. Anyone care to mention good places to spend?
We've been offered kywrds at K Position (Infospace) and Excite. Do either of these have much of a search market share? Where would you guys spend first?
Any advice welcome...
Dave

I am a big fan of getting as many one time fee inbound links as possible. I usually start w directory registration.

Welcome to the forums, TheDave!
Are you looking to target strictly the UK market, or a broader reach? That can possibly narrow down and refine what to look for and how.

Ah, there's the springboard for thinking it through. ;)
That can make a big difference, much the same way as for promoting a site seasonally related to bridal or wedding items or appropriate gift items, in the Spring during the "natural" busy season for that market. Or home decor type sites if you have home decorating or household type items.
Depending on the market niche, you may be able to locate relevant high-traffic sites or portals to purchase some ad space from. I'm not referring to "buying links for PR" but sites with the potential to drive targeted traffic your way, credit card in hand.
It can relate to the type of products, or maybe even to the demographic you target, if there is one identifiable that might be seasonally lucrative. If the products are likely to appeal to older citizens, for example, there are sites that reach those users as their main focus. Or parenting sites for certain products if they'll be bought for children - or by people with children.

Always good, and a great investment. some offer recurring payments, so seasonal may be a good way to test them.
Then there's the possibiity of qualty newsletter advertising if the right ones can be found. Also, some sites run special pages for promoting for the Holidays, though those may be a bit harder to track down.

It might not be what you're looking for exactly, but there was a recent discussion about promoting in the UK
