Yahoo AdWords coming back?

The Yahoo saga drags on. They managed to dodge the Microsoft bullet, but before they could get back to their usual relaxed ways an Icahn Tank showed up. So now what?

Well, I guess they will need the Google deal for real this time. Of course, they must structure it as an open platform, "we invite anyone to supply ads to Yahoo, even Microsoft", in order to minimize regulatory problems.

If this happens Yahoo will probably pick off the highest paying ads from all suppliers, including Google, and thus drive up ad prices for every Yahoo advertiser.

Well, it looks like we might get Yahoo AdWords after all. The saga drags on, but has just taken another dramatic turn and is now almost back to where this whole thing started when Yahoo did their AdWords test.
