Hi, I am engaged in a KPO and need to dig out the web for various projects that my clients offer. I know that we do have options of search engines but does anyone know anything better than a search engine like may be any software that can do some advanced searching rather than the basic search. I think that there are many outside there that may be searching for such a thing.

Thanks in advance!!!

I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for here. Do you just want to search on multiple search engines at once? Dogpile and Metacrawler do that, but their search algorithms aren't necessarily as refined as the target engines themselves.

If you're having trouble finding what you need in the search engines, you may need to look into refining your search technique. Try using multiple specific keywords, or even putting quotes around words you want to find "lumped together."

Google now has different specific types of searches (books, scholar, etc.), you might try those as being more comprehensive.

Also, you might want to try engines specific to the area or country you're in and see how they do for you. And how about local directories and vertical directories and engines?

Also, you can look into WordNet and other similar resources to find related words and phrases to research.
