SEMPO has posted the Board of Directors meeting minutes (http://www.sempo.org/about-sempo.php) online in a public area of the website.
Of note is the end of the stipend being paid to the Executive Director effective October 1, 2004.
MSWord! Crazy, crazy people.

It didn't appear at all BTW.

It loaded for me.
They had attorney's in the meeting. And they voted to revise the bylaws. The attorney's were to have something to present the board in about 2 weeks from the meeting, which would be around now, by my calculations.

NFFC,
PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.

Worked for me - though I find it odd, given what I recall reading in the past, that the stipend is being discontinued - yet there isn't a notice for an election of a new executive director, or evidence that such was up for discussion during the meeting.
Seems they've been actively cleaning up some of their fau pax's (spelling?) which is good, but they've still got some room to go before I give them any respect. It's one thing to make a few mistakes, it's another to wait until your name gets dragged through the mud to even think about fixing them - makes you look like a chump, imho.

Chumpy, perhaps. But a step in the right direction, no?

I imagine you have MSWord?

I'd be much happier if you get them to post it in alternative formats.

Hmmmmm .... whatever happened to that little legal opinion they were going to obtain?

An interesting read, although the use of the word "unanimously" seven times in the document could be questioned. ;)
I think SEMPO is moving on, although, for some reason, in every (almost) move they make, there seems to be a [small] glitch. Co-incidence if you may call it, but I find it questionable.

The tone of it all is very "guarded."

Written on their lawyers paper?

>>alternative formats.
I have open office at home - don't use MS Office anymore, since the price of Open office is so compelling ;) Seems that I can open Word using Open Office, so surely, this doc should be useful for even people who don't use Word itself, yes?
Though, it does seem a bit odd, posting such a doc in Word format...seems that it would make more sense in PDF, RTF, or perhaps even plain ol HTML. Doesn't Word add some huge amount of bloat to the size of a text file? Plain text would save them some bandwidth, too - food for thought.

It's interesting that they don't send out emails to the members or new update emails regularly. I don't mean an email everytime they update, but twice a month would be a good thing. I usually find out about new information or new releases from SEMPO here. I do understand that I can and should read the site more regularly, but the communication hasn't really improved very much.

Sounds good to me, its hardly radical is it?

How many emails have you been receiving? You should have been getting about 1 a month for the past several months. I know that they have had challenges with their emails being caught up in spam filters and have been working to alleviate the problem. This may have had a big impact on the perception of communication in the past as well.
I've received over a dozen or so since the formation of SEMPO and even then I know there has been communication I've missed as a committee member so they have sent out test emails and worked with their provider to try and work it out. It seems to be working better now.

I do recieve one a month since August. I understand the possible issues with spam filters and have addressed that with the proper people inhouse.
Maybe it's just me and I'm whining but the communication has seemed to improve just marginally since the August meeting.
I've already decided to take responsibility for keeping updated, I should have in August, or even earlier.

This is where I come to find out about Sempo. Otherwise, I would know nothing.
