View Full Version : What happened to my page rank on Google? Is there a bug in Google?

I have two sites, of which one is on the top 2 pages on Google for major keywords, the other one held the same position. My domain name expired and I renewed it two weeks late, but it didn't affect my inbound links . I was on the top 2 pages 3 days ago. For the last two days, I can't even pull up my site using certain keywords.

What happened? and what can Google do about that. I used to have 800 page hits/day and now it is 200.

the drop from short termed domain loss is minimal

Yeah, I have seen sites come back from this type of screwup within a few weeks in the past. It all depends on whether you get tagged as a dropcatch or not. A WMT reconsideration request explaining everything wouldn't be a bad idea.

I have been fighting a similar problem for almost 2 years. Lost page rank, worked endlessly, requested reinclusion 3 times. Never got page rank back. Site (unnamed here) is included in the index, but with no page rank traffic is 10% of what it was.

why not put the URL's up here so we can take a gander?

Maybe you have big problems? on your main search term are you showing up around 30 to 40 perhaps?

This is what happened, we can discuss it here:

And did the domain go PR0 back then, or just recently?

BTW, there have been a lot of sites that went PR0, it isn't unusual lately.
