iframe link vs. href link

How do you think href links to your website compare with iframe links to your website? Does anyone think the iframe link is worthless/hurtful? We have clients that link to our website to show their users information, but it would be a lot cooler if we provided that information in an iframe on their website. I just dont want to lost the credit for links. Any ideas?

an iframe link is only passing link love if the html inside the iframe is crawled

so does it get crawled - and if it does, does the link love match the link love from an href link?
