View Full Version : Aggregator duplicating my content?

I have recently noticed that an aggregator site is getting good ranking on Google using our content and keywords.

What they do is post the summary or partial content of one of our pages on their website with a link back to the website. For example nearly all the articles on this page are mine.. http://www.touritalie.nl/info/overnachting/palermo

However they do give a link back to our site so I guess I shouldnt complain seeing as they are ranking well. Oddly I've noticed our own rating sliding since they came on the block. It may or may not be related but its a funny coincidence.

Can anyone tell me if they think this guy is hurting my own ranking by doing this?

That you get the links is good but someone using your copy can have issues of who is duplicating the copy... especially given it is pointing to you... almost looks like you did it to create a doorway page....

Perhaps you should contact the site owner and ask for a copy of his program and use it for yourself. :)

You said you noticed your ranking declining, are those keywords in your TITLE? You might also try adding a meta description. A description may not help with rankings in the SERPs but offering Google a good snippet never hurts. I'd also consider reducing the amount of content per page and making your content multiple pages.

Disclaimer, I don't know any Italian so my suggestions may be of no use from a content management perspective. Is it safe to assume that academischereizen is your site?

if that person has copied content from your website and mentioned your website url in resource link, then this is not called duplicity of content. but you need to do a lot of work on your site to get good ranking for your website. Check your competitor efforts in terms of links and do more work for your website. you will also get good ranking for your website....
