Yahoo May Merge with AOL

AOL Yahoo in Merger Talks (http://blog.searchenginewatch.com/blog/080210-234341) - Yahoo Plays Hardball with Microsoft.

Would a Yahoo merger with AOL work? How would that impact the search engine landscape?

With Google owning 5% of AOL, the deal could easily get done. Would it help Yahoo, though?

I suspect Yahoo would love to get its paws on AOL's Advertising.com - would that create the biggest ad network: Yahoo+ Advertising.com + Right Media? And would it help Yahoo compete with Google + DoubleClick and Microsoft + aQuantive?
