Hello everybody:

I index my site a month ago, now I have a #1 on every search engine: yahoo, msn, alltheweb, etc. I am waiting for Google to response (my link popularity is not that well )

How you do to maintain a #1 spot ?

What possible changes can I do ?

Thank you

keep building keyword rich links from related sites and add more content as you see fit.

I got a #1 spot since yesterday, how often do you think that I can make changes to maintain my ranking?

Involved title and descriptions, or only add more content and links?

changing your title over and over will likely not help you. you may want to search around to find bits and pieces to answer some of your general questions and help get you an intro to seo such that you can ask more specific questions.

much of what you are asking depends on the competitive nature of your site & keywords. I could not lay out a good seo plan without evaluating your site and your competition, but you will want to be able to do a good amount of that yourself if you are doing your own seo so you can keep up with the everchanging world of search.

If a specific page on your site is number one for a specific search phrase - then you don't change titles/ descriptions etc. You should only change the page itself if e.g. a competitor beats you.

Once you are ranking #1 for a specific phrase - then get more backlinks. But if you are #1 for a competitive word/ phrase - I wouldn't go changing the on page factors.

Thank you Chris. It's good to have a #1 spot on every search engine (yahoo, msn, alltheweb, dogpile, altavista, etc) but my challenge is Google (actual ranking 148)

I already sign up with weblinkalliance.com to get inbound links, also I have been doing my best with Arelis Software to ask for links but is time consuming, what can I do to get faster inbound links?

write articles and put them on other sites
register in directories
press releases can get you a few too.

DjMorri, watch out for automated programs and setting up link pages that look automated. And while I'm not familar with the "linking" site you mentioned, be VERY careful not to get involved with anything that could be considered a link farm.

If you're #1 - or even some believe top ten - leave well enough alone, since there are constant minor fluctuations. When you're #1 simply research and find more and more possible keywords and keyword phrases to optimize for - not the same page but by adding quality content to the site.

Often those little non-competitive keywords are very targeted and convert well, and at times when there's a major algo change at an engine and a site can fall for some for their main keywords (which can happen), those little ones all add up to continued traffic and can sustain the site. They often sustain rankings more easily than more competitive ones, one reason being that less of the competition is going after them.

Did anyone mention RSS yet? - I recently wrote some stuff on this and in my research found a *very* interesting new product called Feeds for All (http://www.feedforall.com) which is in free BETA testing right now.

Have you thought about adding syndication to your existing link building efforts?

I am going to try adding new pages with fresh and useful content for my clients.

This was my first site following SEO guidelines and it worked perfectly.

Thank you all for your feedbacks.
