The new French Exalead is out in Beta. I list a few of his options in my blog (http://inlogicalbearer.blogspot.com/2004/10/new-exalead-in-beta.html).
The patterns search seem really interesting !
Google will have to innovate soon.

Google need to innovate? Firstly, Google already do this. Secondly, Google still has one of the sleakest interfaces. Thirdly, Google's got/is a brand....
We see lots of innovative stuff around the web, but the average user still wants an easy, intuitive interface; fast responses; a big index (we want results). At the moment only Google and Yahoo offer this... The average user doesn't care much about pattern or clusters... going through a cluster search always involes an additional clikc (at least), what we really want is enter a few words and get the relevant page (first or maybe in the first three; and no, Google isn't always there yet).
