Google launches demographic bidding in AdWords as part of a "Demographic bidding beta test".

Over the next few weeks Google will be testing their new AdWords "demographic bidding" feature. If you would like to sign up as a beta tester for the new AdWords demographic reporting features go to:
https://services.google.com/demographicbidding/

Qualify and you'll be allowed to start running "demographic reports" a week after the launch of your campaign. In this report you'll be able to see success or lack of in specific demographics via AdWords.

Update: more details are now available on Google's AdWord blog:
http://adwords.blogspot.com/2008/01/demographic-bidding-beta-test.html

Google does it again, better targeting = better ROI! Maybe AWR will drop by to give us more information and details as the become available?

Please post any feedback, issues, comments, suggestions and/or "at-a-boys" here!

:)

Hey no problem Aussie, happy to help but didn't Google just say something like "We're not doing things like trying to profile the user to find out if the user is a man or a woman or a 45-year-old or a 25-year-old" a few months ago?

I have to wonder just how powerful this will turn out to be!;)

That was during a backlash of Microsoft's use of that information and to distance themselves - my opinion anyway.

Ahhh... that makes more sense!

I couldn't believe Google would just say something like that only to prove themselves so obviously wrong a few months later.

Just noticed the sign up button on the "beta test" page is a dead link but hopefully it will be fixed soon!:)

This program seems to include detailed reporting by user and much more advanced features. It was posted on Inside AdWords late last night.

I know, I saw -- but its funny how they make no mention of what they launched a year and a half ago.

True, maybe to prevent confusion between the two? Don't know but the reporting features being based on a week or more worth of data in this beta looks pretty interesting. Maybe they will get the "sign up" button fixed so folks can have a look inside!:)

Thanks, beu. Great get. Frank's post on the SEW blog recognizes a job well-done. Are you ready for "beu" to become a famous avatar?
