I think I've asked this question on here a few months ago and nobody knew an answer to it (or at least nobody answered :-)), but I find myself wondering about the same thing, so I'll just ask again (I tried to ask on another forum, too..yet no reply..):

Is there any way to analyze a site's link structure and exclude links from one particular site? In other words if some forum signature link points at a site that I'm analyzing from about 500posts and I want to filter those links out I would like to do that.

I was once told I could do that by adding

to the yahoo linkdomain: operator..however this doesn't seem to work (just tried it again and I got an error).

Anyone knowledgable enough to tell me how to do this?:-)

in google, yahoo & live (msn):

keyword -site:domain.com

this will exclude the domain(s) you list but won't build a profile on link structure as far as I know but it will exclude domains.

ah so it is -site:www.website.com and not just -www.website.com? thx Ill try that later.

What do you mean by your last phrase, though?

yeah, all three engines work with "-site" as opposed to "-www.domain.com" (that would just remove entries in the SERPs that have the text 'www.domain.com")

The last sentence. I am unsure as to how it will give a complete link strategy or linking profile.

Point of distinction: There's a difference between IBLs and internal linking structure.

There are ways to analyze inbound links to a point, but when you're asking about a site's "linking structure" are you looking for how to analyze the internal linking within the site?

Sorry, I probably should have used the expression (back)link profile, not link structure as link structure might easily be mistaken for internal link structure.

I just want to see the number of backlinks a site has. and then exclude links from a particular site that gives the site I'm analyzing site-wide links, which seems to work out just fine with the -site:www... command. thx again!

Yeah nice but the keyword is -site: domain.com u should just build a profile on your link.
