articles from seomoz.org and seobook.com might help you further regarding the basics of SEO. However, this forum offers also the resources that you're looking for.

SEO Expert

You will need to know server side.
Recommended books to reads
php and seo
mod_rewrite
both from the programmer to programmer series.

Nothing else, server-side IMO, would be be needed if PHP and Apache are your weapons of choice.

They do ASP SEO as well.
Welcome

Kavita, when you say about directory submissions, forums and blogs, these are types of one way incoming linking to website. But links from forums and blogs in it's comment section have lost its importance since these are nofollow links which search engine does not read.

I take it for the two of you - jhennie and kavita - that English is your second language. I would work on doing seo in your native tongue - chances are it is not as competitive and you could do really well... once you conquer that then English will be easier

I will edit your articles and send them back to you for your approval. If I know when you are sending them, I'm sure I can meet any deadlines. In exchange, I want you to help me. :)

I have been promoting my website for some time now but, not having alot of results. What others consider simple, routine, tasks are just beyond me. Anytime anyone has offered to help, it was only if I would sign up for this, or sign up for that. Then they still won't help. I've got so many accounts and email boxes floating around in cyber space, it isn't funny.

I want you to help me advertise my website and learn simple things like link exchanges and simple html. Take a look at my website and see what you think
