If you are trying to optimize your SEM with an analytics package, googleAnalytics is nice and its free. With this, you can view visitor trends and adjust your site and SEM strategy accordingly.

You can create a goal funnel using Google Analytics. It tracks everything from the landing page. You can see how your pages direct the customers to a conversion/channel.
If you see any drastic drop in visitors from one page to another, something needs to be improved in the page that is sending visitors. Could be link placement, engaging content, visibility of call-to-action, relevance of content, etc.
