My wife and I have started putting the YouTube Adsense ads on our website. I think it is a good idea, but my wife is not so sure. She says that we are losing an ad that we split in half with Google in favor of an ad we split three ways (Google, us and the video producer).

Anyone have comments?

One more thing, I usually create channels for my ads. I do not see any channels for the YouTube videos. I don't see a seperate spot on our adsense for the income. How do we determine views and clicks?

What, I can't believe this isn't clear to you!:)

Keeping in mind that this is still pretty new ground, obviously a little confusing and that things are always changing. Either way, here is what I've seen so far:
(
Maybe AWR or someone can provide additional information?)

There are Google AdSense "Video Ads" which show video when available and images when video is not available (AdSense > Adsense Setup > Get Ads > AdSense for Content > SINGLE PAGE > AD UNIT TEXT AND IMAGE OPTION, AdFormts must be right size)

https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=40044
https://www.google.com/adsense/static/en_US/AdFormats.html

&

Google "Video Units" / YouTube "AdSense Players" (YouTube.com > My Account > AdSense Settings) BUT access to YouTube must FIRST be allowed through AdSense (AdSense > Account Access > Hosts with access > where you should see www.youtube.com)

I think your wife is correct but I'm not sure Google provides percentages.

"Video Ads" may be what you actually want unless you are using your own video on your own site or offering for others to use.

So, I hope that helps and makes sense to you because it's been a long day! :D

I have been putting up adsense videos on our articles today. So far, I don't see how I can determine the revenue. I would expect there to be a separate category kind of like adsense for search. I will keep my eyes open for it.

We also requested to become a partner again. That is tougher. I requested it once before several months ago but never heard back. We want others to put our videos on their website while we put theirs and ours on our website.

When I first clicked on the Adsense For YouTube button today, YouTube opened up and it said acceptance is pending. I hit reload later on and it didn't say that, so I started putting the ads on articles. I guess I was accepted??

Anyway, we will see how that works out.

I still have not figured out how to determine the revenue. There is no channel data. I have quit using the YouTube videos for now and will probably contact Google.

It will take a while for Google to sort everything out. Just see this as a beta. Compare Adsense and Adwords now to how they were like upon launch.

I posted a question on the Help Forum at Adsense. That reminds me, I have to check back on that.

OK, I found it:

When you link your YouTube account and AdSense account, a channel for your video units will be automatically created. This video units channel will allow you to track your earnings separately. We'll show the standard details about clicks, impressions, clickthrough rate, eCPM, and earnings. At this time, we aren't able to provide details about user viewing of the videos on your site.

We earned some money on the units and I will start adding more now.

I just hope I don't accidentally delete that unit. LOL
