Hi all,

I understand that using Htags helps spiders recognize what is most important and is good for SEO purposes. I also understand that there are some various other affects that different types of code can have on SEO (although I know this is also debatable).

Does anyone know how Frames work in coding? Does this have any positive/negative affect on SEO or none at all?

I appreciate your input.

it is not advisable to put up a frame on a page especially if you target to put up something crawlable on frames...

It depends on how you are going to use iframes on your site. Just like what Trico mentioned, if you are going to include important info. on it, it might suffer.

Thank you for your input. Your comments, as well as some further research, has shown me that using Frames can greatly effect how a site is crawled. In turn, affecting SEO in a negative way.

I'm not a coder so my understanding of Frames is limited. But if this is the case with Frames, why are they still used? What purpose do they serve?

But if this is the case with Frames, why are they still used? What purpose do they serve? There are situations where it makes sense to use frames and ways to help search engines find framed content at the URL where said content actually "lives". That said, if possible it's best to avoid using frames if at all possible.:)
