Organic results showing malware sites

Seems there are a lot of malware sites showing up in the major engines' organic results.... Google has tried to wipe them...

Just curious - what's a subvert browser? It was used as a noun in the article. I've never heard the term before and couldn't find anything on it when I searched for it.
