I need to put together a competitive benchmark / analysis type of document of a client's site. Is there a application that can help me generate this type of report?

The software at ibusinesspromoter dot com could help you with this task. Google Analytics would also be a good source for some of the data.

What kind of "competitive benchmark / analysis type of document" are you looking to produce? In other words what data do you want to compile?

For analysis, I'd use a word doc.

i thought i remembered hearing about a program that generates these kinds of marketing templates. maybe i'm craazy. i'd love to get my hands on some templates or other competitive analysis' for inspiration.

I think a lot of this can be automated but most of the reports are very client specific.

So, you can probably automate a lot on analysis side but still will need to do custom work on reporting side.

If there are tools out there, let me know about them too :-)
