Sorry to hear its not working, there are so many reasons that could be. I would be more than happy to help you if you would like to provide a paycheck.

Hello arcel - I would not actually consider AdWords a 'business' in itself. Rather I'd think of it as an advertising tool which you'd use to advertise a product or service.

Before beginning with AdWords, I think you'd be very wise to spend a fair amount of time in the AdWords Help Center and Adwords Learning Center, which I have linked to below:

AdWords Help Center:
https://adwords.google.com/support/

One useful topic from the Help Center, for those just getting started:

Tips For Success:
https://adwords.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=tips.html

AdWords Learning Center - where you will find many text and multimedia lessons:
http://www.google.com/adwords/learningcenter/

I'd also suggest that, as you learn, it would be a good idea to keep your daily budget low - to prevent any unpleasant surprises as you come up-to-speed.
