Are you branding yourself? Find out by calculating your Google Brand Index (GBI) :)

To calculate your GBI just Google your Search Engine Watch Forum handle (e.g. mine is abbottsys) then count how many of the first page organic listings mention your handle.

Then, add to this the number of AdWords ads on the first page and you have your GBI.

(no cheating, your page must be set to 10 listings)

It's a combination of how well you are known (the organics part) and how important your handle is in general (the AdWords part.)

GBI = #organic listings on first page which mention your handle + #ads on the first page

For example, AdWordsRep has GBI=11 (10 organics + 1 ad)

I checked, and you are indeed in bad shape with a GBI=0 :)
(no cheating by setting your page to 100 results, but I did finally find an organic listing for you on pp4)

There are no ads on your handle, so I suppose you could at least get a GBI=1 by running an ad for yourself. Gotta build your brand :)

Despite the fact that you seem to be somewhat of a branding genius I'm afraid I'm not buying your "brand alias" pitch, and your official GBI must remain at zero, GBI(beu)=0 :)

ha I have a diff alias for here on purpose...conspiracy theorist in me says...if someone else in my vertical stumbles in, I don't want them basically having my strategy.

LOL!! OK, you got me there. But remember, I'm just giving the algo for calculating your GBI, I'm not saying that a GBI=0 is bad :)
