View Full Version : Site Bouncing in & out of 1st Place on Google

Hi There - I have a site that on Wed. was #1 on Google for its' title search terms. Then on Friday it disappeared, reappeared on Sat. as #1 and as of Sunday it was gone again. It would be my opinion that the site will come back and this is just some random fluctuation of the Google results. I just wanted to see if anyone would have a better idea on this. The site has been plenty of links, more than its' competitors. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

are you checking from the same computer using the same browser?

Hi There - We are using 3 different computers. One tried in Firefox and IE. Still the site has gone from #1 to the last listing on the 14th page. Any ideas? Thanks so much. -Beth

the bounce suggests another dance ahead and they are rotating and updating the datacenters.... funny how I always miss them when they are done in my space....

anyone else seeing new Google moves? They have been busy...

Would you say that after the dance is over the site will pop back up in the serps? It isn't a real fun dance party at this point.

--that depends what kind of corsage did you give them, did you rent a limo? ;)

if you are playing by their rules and you deserve to be their (relevant) then most likely you'll be alright.

Its that "most likely" that keeps you awake at night!

one of our sites was being dribbled like a basketball but its calmed down for now.

One thing to check...make sure that all the computers aren't signed into google or using the google toolbar.

also check for your site with advanced settings set to 100. Mine would dissapear from the default 10 but show up with the 100 wierd.

Could also be your site losing and gaining trust/authority status based on the people linking to your website.

The links to the site are all credible topically related directory sites. I am doing the same SEO for this site as I am for all of my other sites and none of them seem to be moving around. Rather they are moving up in the SERPs. I am curious how the Google Toolbar would effect the SERPs? My client is seeing the same thing and he does not have the toolbar installed on his computer. I did uninstall it from one computer and still the site is gone.

Your not logged into a Google account when you are searching in one browser and not in another, I know it seems crazy but you may be picking up personalised search results in one browser and not in another?
