What's the best tool to show the location of where a website is hosted.

I use http://whoishostingthis.com and www.whois.sc, but are there are other reliable websites/tools where I can get this information?

I would also test how quickly they transmit data to your computer. The further away the slower this will be.

To do this open up your RUN in your OS
Type command press enter.
When the page loads then type ping leave a space and type your host domain name as in

ping www.host.com

it will then return some data about the host and how quick it trasmits data to your computer.

The only bit you will need is the last line
minimun = ..ms maximum=..ms average..ms. Anything over 100 is bad.

The lower the number the quicker the pages will load for people near your computer my average is 86ms, however in broadband connections this might not be noticable factor. But does show you how fast it can transmit data.
