I must admit I am completely new to this game! HELP! I need to find out as much info as possible regarding "square deals" for pharmacy sites. Does any type of document exist with set rules and/or guidelines? Or is there a kind soul who can help me... pretty please... :p

You may want to flesh this request out a little. The pharmacy ads have been given their own set of rules as many off shore non-perscription drug suppliers have created a situation that the search engines had to deal with.

Fabz, you may find the following two links (from the AdWords FAQ) to be useful:

What do I have to do to advertise my online pharmacy or be an affiliate of one?
https://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=7464&query=squaretrade&topic=&type=

What is Google's policy for online pharmacy ads?
https://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=7463&query=squaretrade&topic=&type=

I often think that the searchable AdWords FAQ is a seriously under-utilized resource. For that reason, I'm providing a link to the FAQ as well! ;) It really is a great place to at least start a search for info on any topic concerning AdWords.

So I had to join the Square Trade program recently for adwords as well as overture.

Honestly kinda made me mad at first since I dont advertise prescription drugs on adwords or overture. Since my site does sell rx medications though I had to participate to keep my account open, even if they were not advertised on the program. On reflection it is good for the industry and the public.

Long and short of it for those who dont want to read the long faq or just dont want to click away is this.

Costs you $200 non refundable application fee. A liscensed pharmacist must eb the one who makes the app (if you are the pharmacy, I dont know about the program for affiliates).

The applying pharmacist must send in a copy of their liscense and you must send in a copy of your pharmacies state liscensure. They aslo require quite a bit of personal info from the pharmacist to go along with the previously mentioned things.

That is about it. If approved you get a rather ugly little seal that if your url does not match your liscensed pharmacay name you will never use, unless you dont mind confusing the bejeebers out of your customers. Along with the privilage of paying a monthly fee after the first 90 days of $50 per month.

Personally I feel the fee is too high considering they do nothing after the initial approval process. Perhaps I missed something though. It will get your account reactivated though if they have turned you off pending participation. Whole process took about 7 days.
