Google constantly updates your sites page rank...so that it is factored into each and every search.
It is ONLY the toolbar thingy that is being updated ;)(if it is being updated and I havent seen any changes when I should be)

It's been a bit confused lately. There have been changes in toolbar PR for those sites Google hit because of link selling. I think that's muddling the waters a bit. In a comment on his blog on Oct. 1st, Matt Cutts said "I don’t expect a full PageRank update for at least a few more weeks, and possibly longer." To me that sounds to put it end of October, maybe early November or so.

Notice that "full PageRank update." Reading into Matt's comment it looks like Google deliberately did the mini link seller update separately to be sure it got everybody's attention. And it sure did.

You can find out what your current page rank most likely is on google anyway ;)
This estimates your CURRENT PR and what it will be at the update
if you run the tool at that time of course

Just how accurate is that? I ran it with www.mydomain.com and mydomain.com and got two WAY different estimates. The www version of my domain shows 113,000+ backlinks with an estimate of 7. The non-www version shows 103 with an estimate of 2. My current PR is 5.

When I search link:www.mydomain.com and link:mydomain.com on Google, it shows the same amount of links for each one (~1480). Am I missing something here?

Don't trust Page Rank prediction tools...

It don't give accurate results...It is just estimates and they rely on backlinks alone.. While the Google PR has different algorithm of that prediction tool...

First the page rank update is meaningless unless you need it to sell links..lol. the new values have already been taken into consideration long before they were made public. It's pointless to keep track of such things as it in no way impacts your listings. If your using the PR value to keep score, your looking at the wrong numbers..lol.

Dont underestimate how useful the toolbar is with regards to gaining links to your site!

I have come across quite a lot of sites who wont one way link to me unless my site is PR4 or 5 or greater (in the toolbar) and it isnt as yet
