There is this one keyword where me and this fellow have the same affiliate sponsor and exact same URL.

I noticed that if I bid about $0.37 on the keyword, I get listed. If I bid any less I don't get listed.

My quality score is OK (min bid $0.12).

However after bidding $0.37 and after hundreds of hits, I got 0 sales. So basically there is no way that fellow is paying $0.36 per click and making money.

So obviously he must have a excellent CTR and only pay about $0.05 per click with a GREAT quality score.

My question is, is there anyway to compete with this guy and somehow raise my quality score and pay less than $0.37 per click and get listed?

Or just move on...

If it were me, I'd just move on. If your ad isn't converting, why throw good money after bad?

Google will only show one ad per site/display URL, btw, so it's either you or him - not both. Maybe you already knew that...

We have affiliates that try to compete with us. Aside from that being a violation of our TOS, our branded ads have such a great CTR & conversion rate, that it's hard for a new advertiser to compete, essentially having their ad show in place of ours. Now it does happen, just not often.

If you are dead set on running that ad, try to make your copy even better than the other guy. Or better yet, get a different domain, and mask it. Many of our affiliates to that.

I would move on... but you could also change the display url and add tracking code at the end that Google would see as different and run the ad
