I am considering outsourcing the PPC management (Google and Yahoo) so I can do more organic SEO. What is an average & realistic monthly management fee? My PPC budget is $3,000 for one site and $2,000 for another.

Thank you.

about 15% of the spend plus any other costs involved.

The tools to manage PPC campaigns have improved greatly the last year. Therefore, charges have droped.

However, be very careful when outsourcing PPC campaigns. There are many amateurs out there.

10-15% is pretty standard, as beu said. However, that's a pretty small account to outsource, since it will only provide $200 & $300 per month. I don't know anyone who would take it. Most people have minimum fees of at least $1,000/mo.

What about alternative solutions? Software is one route, as was mentioned above, though I personally think search is a field that doesn't lend itself well to automation generally. (Take that with a grain of salt as I'm also mostly an SEO guy myself.) You could also set up guidelines and hire some students to do it. An hour a day, after school, $10 a day - $50 a week and you're within budget, assuming you can only spend 200-300 a month. You just need to review on the weekends. It's not ideal, but it frees up your time to a significant extent. And as a side benefit, you might find an employee to help grow your own business ;).
