Question, does anyone think that hosting your images on another site like apimages.yahoo.com could negatively effect your placement in the SERPS?
I made this change to my site www. artprints.com to cut down on bandwidth usage ut I am not sure if it will have an affect on the sites rank.

It might not so much "negatively" affect placement in SERPs, however with universal search upon us, you may miss out on some potential traffic to your domain where your images may show up in search results.

Very good point about "universal" and missing traffic!
Hosting images that are highly ranked by Google Universal Search helps build relevancy for the specific keyword/s terms where the images rank but only for the hosting domain of the images.
So, in that way there could be a negative factor caused by hosting images with a third party. You may not be getting credit for all of the relevancy that you should be receiving.
