View Full Version : Optimization for wrong keywords

Hi,

I've been reading this forum quite some time now, it's been very interesting. I'm a student writing a thesis about web translations and web optimization.

I have created a website myself in Dutch, and have translated it to English and Spanish. Next I optimized the Dutch pages after reading basically a library full of books about it.

Now, what has come to my attention is that the wrong pages show up in Google for the wrong keyword. For example, I optimized 1 page for 'history of Bruges', the page being only about the history, while the general 'historical' page shows up in the Google results. And as for the English version, Google seems to find only one page of my website for 60% of my keywords! While keyword X shows up on this page only once, when it shows up in another pages three to four times + in the title tag, + the H1!

How is that possible? I don't know if I can post the url here...

How you use your internal nav linking as well as any other inbound links have impact as well

Exactly right.

There’s a pretty good explanation here. www.searchnewz.com/topstory/news/sn-2-20070807WrongPageRankingattheTopofGooglesSearchRes ults.html
