Is it me or has the forum changed its theme?

I think it's broken, myself. Unfortunately, I don't have admin access to the design area. It's always fun when things go wrong during SES San Jose, since most of the Mods are there instead of here...
I also had an issue yesderday trying to ban a forum spammer, so I think someone on the tech team might be tinkering with things. Hopefully it will get fixed asap.

Looks fixed now, must have been a temporary glitch.

IanIt's switching back and forth between the two. But about 5 out of 6 times it's the broken style showing.

I think it might also be affecting the SEW blog

The page display is bizarre. Looks like someone is rebuilding the pages, forgot to include lines around table cells that need them, and put all the nav links in the wrong place. Very hard to use.
This issue seems to come and go on a daily basis.:)

Is the forum supposed to have a white background? I thought it was grey or blue before.
The new SEW GUI seems to change every other day and it's kind of annoying.  :(
Anyone agree that the "all white" version is hard to read?

It continues to be practically unusable.

It continues to be practically unusable. It's definitely a CSS issue, and I'm wondering if the transient occurrence indicates that it's related to a conditional stylesheet call, related to the adserver call.

the last couple of days have been OK for me but like Robert says its unusable when the error ocurs as all the posts blend into each other
the last couple of days have been OK for me but like Robert says its unusable when the error ocurs as all the posts blend into each other
I use OS X version 10.4.10 with Firefox version 2.0.0.6 and 90% (since the design change) of the time all I get is the very non-friendly all white blended version.:(
Biggest issue being, no background behind the dynamic drop-down feature.

The white background is ok, but it's hard to see who posted what - everything runs together and the division lines between posts seem to be off. I can't tell who posted what.

This forum would be much better off using the stock vBulletin skin, getting rid of all the side bars and use the very latest version of vB instead of fooling around as it has for years with outdated technology.

Re the CSS I have found that a file was missing on one of the servers and copied it over, this has fixed the problem here. I think that this may have been done before though, so if the problem reappears could people let us know please.

Jez.Thank you Jez, it's been working fine for days now, with no slip-ups. We'll let you know if there's anything else.
This forum would be much better off using the stock vBulletin skin, getting rid of all the side bars and use the very latest version of vB instead of fooling around as it has for years with outdated technology.I don't know exactly what the "look and feel" has to do with version, but no, we would not be better off with the "stock skin."
Aside from the fact that we do, indeed, have all the new-fangled bells and whistles, enhancements and embellishments and gadgets and gizmos, I'd like to point out that while a "stock skin" might make do for small Mom 'n Pop operations, it doesn't necessarily lend well to maintaining corporate branding across a network of high profile sites. Thank you for taking the time to offer your suggestion, though.

Well then redesign the site without all the side bars that take away a pleasant user experience here.
No one wants to look at that while reading threads, in addition the reason for the suggestion was because the entire design is sub-standard.
It seems the stock skin has not hurt Digital Point any over the years Marcia.

No one wants to look at that while reading threadsIf you prefer Adsense blocks right inside the threads, and reading the Adsense in between posts as you read is a better experience for you, you're certainly entitled to your preferences. Thank you for sharing.

Yes Marcia, I would rather look at that, at least those ads are targeted to the content of the thread most of the time.
The management here really needs to wake up, I'm sorry I have to be the one bringing the message to you, but I never pull punches.
