My keyword research included the price per click, so I aimed for $0.30/click and a 10% CTR.

I'm getting $0.28/click and a CTR ~11% so I'm happy in that respect.

However, I'm only getting 10 times less traffic than I expected given our research [that part was flawed d'oh!] so that part ain't so good but has nothing to do with adsense

Im not very pleased with adsense at the moment... Seems that they beat me down every time I break a new record... My just eCPM dropped by $40 after I broke a new record... That sucks...

If your an American citizen and your pages audience is American you could try Yahoo (http://publisher.yahoo.com/)...

Northie could you please tell me how you made the keyword research to get the $0,30/click... Sounds pretty good...

There's a bit of software called AdSense Accelerator that plugs directly into the AdWords API.

For each term it researches more terms and gets the estimated cost per click and estimated traffic volume.

I'm in the middle of building something better - lowcompetitionkeywords.com

the problem with AA and the google API is this - the API will give an estimated number of clicks for the advertiser (eg 3 clicks per day)

AA estimated there to be a ratio of 150:1 for clicks on AdWords and natural SERPs, so 3 clicks / day meant 750 searches /day - which is just plain stupid

I didn't find this out until too late and have always taken the ration to be about 10:1, as i took everything that had 10 searches/day or more which actually meant 0.06 clicks/day or 0.6 searches/day at the 10:1 ratio.

Either way I had paid ghost writers to write thousands of unique articles based on my research and now frantically try to promote these pages that I thought would be doing so well......

Oh, well..... we live and learn!

I am very happy with Adsense, I guess it depends on which words you use

Well,
Obviously people will be happy who are earning through adsense..but what's about the people whose account disable because of some invalid clicks and they are resposible for that...they have lost a lot of their money and are helpless ....obviously they are unhappy ....

I had something called adsense tracker installed; it basically logs metrics about clicks on your adsense ads

when someone clicked 174 times on one of the ads on one our pages, google banned us. we wrote to them with the evidence from astracker and our account was reinstated
