The internet was designed as a medium of communication that allows efficient exchange of information in an enviorment that fosters connectivity. It has the potentinal to be more versatile than any other existing mass media channel and is superior at targeting individual prospective buyers.Communication is often seen as one way, one to many messages from the firm to consumers in the form of mass advertising. This fails to take into account the more personal forms of offline communication, such as direct mail and tele marketing, as well as the broad communication capabilities of the internet. The two way real time communication the the internet offers and other characteristics of this medium such as 2Is (Interactivity & individualization) make the internet a unique marketing communication tool that has profound effects on the marketing process. Beside that internet does however change the game in other significant ways!
