We don't seem to have a party thread yet, so here goes. First question: When is the Google Dance? Tuesday? I need to make travel plans.

I think that Joe is working on a party thread now, some of the engines have been slow at releasing info.

I am very excited about attending the ses san jose 2007, my first conference ever and I can't wait for the google dance. I have heard a lot of great things about not only the conference but all the extra curricular activities that go on.

Since this is my first time attending, what should I be expecting? Is there anything I should be looking out for? How hard will it be for me considering I won't know anyone there or anything thats going on? I am excited but nervous.

SES at Chicago was the first conference I attended. Learning wise, I did not think I gained a lot. However, the connections I made were excellent.

Last year was my first SES and I missed most parties simply because I didn't know about them, so I hope to find them here.
By the way, has anyone else noticed that the SES San Jose site at http://www.searchenginestrategies.com/sew/sj07/ appears to only be Firefox-friendly? If I go there in IE7, the big blue nav bar that is supposed to be on the left covers up the right side of the content area. Sometimes if I reload the page in IE7, it will move back to the left, but another reload pushes it back to the right. I tried it on two different PCs.
Tsk, tsk...
Sorry to get off-topic.

Great. I looked all over the site when I first noticed it, but didn't see a link to a webmaster or anything except registration stuff.

Sold. I've booked a 14 hour direct flight from Sydney, Australia on the basis of this comment :)
Kidding of course - but I will be flying out to my first SES event. The overseers decided to let me out of my cage.

My first time in SJ, but I know from NY & CHI, that the night before usually involves finding the hotel bar that everyone is gathered at...

Any female going to SES San Jose like to share a room at the Fairmont (across the street from convention center) Aug 20-23? $161 per night. Let me know. Thanks. cb

Hi Natasha, sorry I didn't click the right button so people could contact me. I'll send an email and we can be in touch. Are you arriving same dates 8/20 and departing 8/23? If so, hope we can connect. It's better at the Fairmont, free wireless because I'm a member of presidents club. More in email. cb

If they are not co-sponsoring with Webmaster Radio it should be a small event... wait a minute DoubleClick is being bought by Google... so Google is having two parties..lol

There are a lot of events that are done at the conference or announced there... the best way to get to know about them is to do the rounds of the exhibitors and ask them

I think Joe is putting something together and it will be up today or tomorrow... getting the list is harder as many big parties have been dropped and the invite ones are very hush hush... they only tell me on Friday so I don't try and get thousands of people asking for invites

True - I'm working on it now, there have been a couple of last minute additions and I'm still waiting on one more call to finalize plans for a PubCrawl. Frank is so right, I think even most of the private party organizers have been playing their cards close to the vest by letting me know - yes, there will be a party but were not telling you when or where just yet - because they want to control capacity.
I'm hoping to get it up today.

Sadly Frank...no. :(
We land on the 6th and fly out again for home on the 18th and we hit London, Amsterdam, go through Germany and Switzerland, then into northern Italy. We finish in Paris, then head home.
Busy trip, but I'm there for pics, drinks and eating. :) I'll head back to interesting bits in a couple years.
