I've been playing around with the free trial of WordTracker to get a feel for it before I buy my day's subscription.

1] I've heard KEI is not very accurate, so I shouldn't pay much attention to it, true?

2] If #1 is true, then it seems to me I just need to find the phrases with the lowest competing pages that are still getting a number of hits I'd be happy with, correct?

3] The number of competing pages thing scares me... is there a certain cut-off point where the # of competing pages for a keyword phrase makes it a waste of time to pursue???

Thanks,
Parry

Hi Parryl
you are right on #1.

for #2 it is more the # of sites that are actually competing and how hard they are competing that matters...go with a targeted term that you have enough of a budget to get.

to be a competing page it just means that word is on the page somewhere or in a link pointing at the page...generally it is not a useful metric IMHO. its how hard the top few are working that matters... not how many pages have the random terms on it.

porn <-- now this page, this posts individual post page, and other variations of pages might be competing for the term porn, but clear as day you can see that it is not.
