This event should have a great turn-out, including some of the top minds in the industry. Probably not good for newbies, although great for people looking to get into more hardcore SEO.
See you all there :)

Who cares how long they have been doing SEO. A good friend of mine has been doing SEO for just over 1 year and makes 50k a month.
Is he a newbie? I doubt it

I feel that I've touched a nerve with you guys, for which I apologise. My point was that at some LondonSEO events there are people talking about word ratios on markov etc which would probably totally baffle some people listening to the conversation. I realise that 99% of the time it's mostly about socialising, making contacts and sometimes talking about the basics.
BTW, my definition of "Newbie" is in terms of knowledge rather than time.
:)

No problems here Rob, all valid points.
Anyhow, I'm obviously falling into the 1% that actually wants to go and listen to what these guys have to say. I don't like socialising. Maybe I'm just strange, a closet geek in denial or couldn't be ars*d listening to the bull crap.
Hey, at least I'm honest :)

There's already a few SEOs starting to meet up in Manchester. There's a rather lovely facebook group for it as well which is the Digital Marketing Interest Group. Next meet is on 6th September at some pub. I was on holiday for the first one but I hear the atmosphere was good, drink was taken and egos were left at home. It's mostly organised by Dave Bird from MMU who runs the online marketing degree there and nominally on behalf of Manchester Digital.
I shall be most likely coming to your event as well. Always interested in chat and expertise.
I'll stick both events on our events calendar as well, if you don't mind.
