My guess would be 10% at the most for the US. In other countries (such as Germany or France) it might be way lower.
Its probably not a keyword that too many people search for.
Overture says it gets around 3,000 searches/month which means technically there are up to 15,000 searches for it. However overture's number can often be inflated. Let's just stick with the 15,000 searches, though.
That means there'll be 1,500 on MSN (if we assume their piece of the pie is 10%). In the first position you can expect to get say..30% of the traffic (though it can vary widely of course..this is just an average/estimation), which would be 500 searches/ month.
Say you had a conversion rate of 1% that would mean you could expect 5 people to buy from you/month.
However if the conversion process isn't smooth or anything else is wrong with your site (being done more for the search engines than to appeal to end users for example) that could also be 0 people who buy.
Keep in mind that all those figures are just estimations/averages that can value extremely.
However I hope it can give you an idea

You explained very clearly, there is little traffic in MSN search.
And I have a question, My site has 3 monthes, and I do some seo works:
1. I submit to about 400 free directory
2. Submit 4 articles to 7 article website
3. Do signatures in 10 forums
But I found there is little traffic for my site, could you give me some ideals how to improve my seo work?
my website: www.cn-crystal.com
Thanks

- Did you really submit to 400 free directories? I did a backlink check on yahoo and it says you have 290 links all in all? Are you sure all these 400 directories listed your site in them? or did you e-mail all of them and ask them to accept your sites but dont know if they did?
- All those links you have gotten so far are rather "low quality links". The easier a link is to get (forum links are extremely easy to get, most directory links are easy to get) the less value it really has.
The reason why youre getting traffic from MSN is that MSN isnt very good at determining the quality of a link, I think (as opposed to Google).
So if you want to rank in Google you should try to get links in other ways..For example by submitting articles...
--- I cant really tell you about a quick fix or anything or describe how to do it in this thread, because that would take a bit long. You should learn about the basics of SEO and especially learn about link building. You can read up on that on the internet..and I think in this forum right here there's a sticky thread on link building! I dont know whats in it but sounds like a good place to start (by reading it).

articles can help initially but the others are useless.
I certainly wouldn't forget about MSN. Much easier to get ranked and seems to covert better. IMO you would be best focusing on MSN and yahoo first keeping the google guidelines in mind.

To be honest I would say shoot for Google as "crystal animal figurines" probably isn't a very high volume keyword. He said that he had already been at #1 on MSN for it and didnt get no customer reply(I assume orders?).
So I guess the only way to get some decent traffic for that keyword would be focussing on Google(/Yahoo)..but then again if he is (or was) already ranking #1 on MSN on these low-quality links going for Google (=getting high quality links) probably wont hurt his MSN rankings.

Thanks, I use overture and determine my keyword, "crystal animal figurine" no "s" , this keyword is 766 search count in overture, is this a good volume keyword?
No reply is no order, but I found there is no hit from msn, it is the key.
I have read the basis of SEO, but you know, as a new website, it is hard to get high quality links, if you have a good way to suggest?
Of course, you said article marketing I think this is a good way, I will continue doing it.

766 searches on overture would mean about 3000 searches all in all, as overture (yahoo) only has 20-25% or so of the search market. Also they often display inflated numbers. However I think this is not the case with your keyword phrase as its rather specific and not very competitive. So lets stick with 3000 searches all in all.
overture meshes together singular and plural versions, though..so crystal animal figurine and crystal animal figurines are meshed together in the overture tool.
If you ranked #1 on Google, Yahoo and MSN for this keyword phrase (singular and plural) you could expect to get about 1000 or so visitors/month. You dont get all the traffic, b/c everybody doesnt click on the #1 listing...the #1 spot gets about 30-40% of the traffic, though on average - of course this can differ a lot, but this isnt really the point here...the point is that a total search volume of 3000 or so of which you wont be able to get all the traffic is a rather low search volume..you should look for other keywords, too...to be honest ENglish isnt my first language and Im not sure what this keyword really means but maybe there are also keywords such as animal figurine(s) or other keywords that people search for who would be interested in buying your C.A.Figurines?

Maybe your keywords has low search volume and I think msn is not widely use by user when searching. Better if you can have good rankings in google. You can also try other alternative if you don't have good rankings try posting on related forums where in you can have a chance to meet quality visitors or customers.

I would use internal analytics to determine what keywords to target also! I found that before I looked into internal analytical data, some of my guess wrok was incorrect.
Also someone said concentrate on ranking high in the Google SERP, I second that!
