I don't think there are any official announcements but has does anybody have any idea when they will drop INK and go with their own search. I also remember reading they were supposed to drop Overture and have their own PPC model sometime in June or July. I know to tack on some months/years to what they say and that would be more accurate. :)

MSN said its new crawler might be ready by the end of this year. They've not said anything concrete about doing their own PPC program, though many expect that will happen. They have a contract to use Overture through the middle of next year, if I recall right -- so an MSN-own program on the PPC side probably wouldn't happen until then at the earliest.

Or like most everything else they do, they will probably buy another working model like Kanoodle, FindWhat or another. I'm sure they would have bought Google if Google would have allowed it instead of trying to develop their own search engine as well. We will see ....
My thoughts exactly David. Lycos' HotBot recently launched a desktop search tool for Internet, documents and email folders. It "searches 6 file types including MS Office and PDF; and privately indexes mail and files on users desktops and stores locally." Makes me wonder if they are angling for acquisition.

Yesterday I noticed that my page in MSN was no longer from SiteMatch...I asked around already and it seems that some people are experiencing the same thing and some aren't. Any update, anyone?

OK, I just checked their search results and now my SiteMatch links are back again. I guess they were just doing some testing...
