View Full Version : Competitively Ranked #1 With "URL Only" in Title

My Client is ranked #1 out of 51m for a very good keyword. The trick is that their title has just the domain name, and google is pulling the description from an img_alt tag for this keyword.

Here is the site

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=option+newsletter&btnG=Search

They're #1. They do have good links and a DMOZ listing, other than that, very little in terms of basic title, meta and alt tags.

Now, why fix something that's not broke? But on the other hand, don't you think that if you add add'l kws to the title and other tags (3-4 kw), as well as balance densities to those 3-4 kws, you will forgo a temporary drop, but will make it up in the long run?

Also, the rankings don't do so well in Yahoo, so I'm thinking the tag updates will help them expand to the other SEs.

My gut is leaning towards a full site SEO effort (not just the home page) and unless strictly prohibited, I think I may give the green light, but not before discussing here.

Any thoughts? I'm stuck, don't want to mess things up....

Thanks

Nice, don't you love when that happens. The cool thing is that your site is from the uk.

I agree, gotta be tried, but like I said, want to be careful too.

Thanks
