I usually agree, but for visual products or colorful events like circuses or concerts, skyscraper and cube ads have done better for our clients than text.

Excellent point lizcamps. I'd have to agree that with items of such a visually appealing nature, they'd likely perform better.

test, test, test

Try them both to determine what works best in your case for your users. ;)
