I've had this site up for a while. www.backyardvoyager.com I didn't create it for the purpose of making money, but threw some adsense in there as a test to see if it would be worth my time to set up more sites.

I would prefer making information rich sites on subjects that interest me, but would also like to generate considerably more $ than the Astronomy site has. I suppose I'll have to come up with a few more popular subjects, such as celebrities or sports.

BTW, would a [low] CTR rate be acceptible?

Thanks for looking.

conus, that's a great site! And BTW, I don't know the extent to which specifics aren't supposed to be mentioned, so let's phrase the "concept" this way:

Which of the following would be an acceptable CTR?

a) 1% to 4%
b) 5 % to 10%
c) 11-20%
d) or higher than 20%?

To answer your question about what further types of sites to create, I'd say to create sites on topics that interest you. For example, with astronomy - are there products people can buy that are related to astronomy as a hobby, like telescopes? If so, aren't there related products that fit roughly into a similar type of product category, like binoculars and microscopes? How about maintenance of those types of products, such as keeping clean and cleaning the lenses? Are there places people travel to to pursue the hobby?

If you check and see if there are any affiliate programs out there for reliable merchants who sell such products or other product lines that astronomy hobbyists would be interested in, you might consider doing an informational, product review site and get some revenue through affiliate programs and Adsense.

Thanks for the response. So, I guess I should come up with separate urls for each area of amateur astronomy? That sounds like it might work. Thanks again!
