View Full Version : Completely dropped from Google rankings

We have our own web server with different 2 sites on it. After having had a top 10 ranking (for several different keywords) for over 6 years we've recently been dropped completely from the Google rankings altogether. You can even search by our site names (swsoftware.com and picturebuzz.com) and our home pages do not show up.
It's as if we've done something offensive that caused us to be dropped. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this may have happened? More to the point, does anyone have any ideas what we can do to repair the situation?
Thanks

Hi samg2637,
>>>we've recently been dropped completely from the Google rankings altogether.
You are still in the index for both sites.

picturebuzz is requesting a plugin to be installed (picturebuzz). What is that about?
>>>You can even search by our site names (swsoftware.com and picturebuzz.com) and our home pages do not show up.
picturebuzz is showing up #1 and #2 in Google when you seach the domain.

1. Have you had any SEOers working on your site lately?
2. Have you changed anything on your site in the last 3 months?
3. Are you the only person that has access to the site and if not check with all others that have access to see if they have made any changes in the last 3 months.
4. Are you going any thing that is again the SE guidelines?

That javascript activex plug in for "picturebuzz.com" is totally bad from both a user point of view and SEO.
As for "swsoftware.com", there's too many places to start.
1. It's a shopping cart - what system are you using? How much control do you have?
2. You have duplicate content issues; non-compliance with www vs. non-www
3. Google only sees 3 pages from your site.
4. No sitemap
5. no text-based navigation
...that's a good start. Start from there...
