I've received several complaints regarding a company sending spam to members via the Private Messaging system.
These messages were not condoned or authorised by SearchEngineWatch, or it's parent companies. If you receive an unsolicited PM through SEW, please forward it to me and I will take immediate action on the matter.
The offending party has been contacted and their accounts banned. Any further spam being sent by this company will be reported to Incisive Media's legal team for prosecution.
SearchEngineWatch will never send advertising via Private Messaging and I would urge all members not to deal with companies who use this illegal method of advertising. PM spam is still covered under the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 and could result in criminal prosecution.
We are now in the process of implementing systems to prevent future PM spam.
I apologise for any inconvenience caused by this matter.
